Top four car movies to watch online

Senna (2010)

My mom liked this one. The documentary shows Senna as a celebrity, a national hero, a racing talent, and as part of his family. It is inspiring to see Senna’s drive, and this is a well put together film that will take you through all the ups and downs of his career and life.

Dust to Glory (2005)

Some sports avoid public scrutiny. These sports are permitted to continue pushing boundaries, without having to justify themselves to the masses. Baja is one of those last bastions in motorsport. The desert has always been a place for the misfits and the adventurous. This is a documentary that follows some of the drivers and riders participating in the Baja 1000, and boy does the guy soloing the race on a dirtbike make you feel like a wuss.

Fast and Furious (2001)

NOS. Downshifting. Jargon. What is there to say that hasn’t already been said? The Fast and the Furious came out in 2001, and is now a period piece for a time gone by. Car fans pointing out holes in this movie are like people who jump on WWE fans to tell them their favorite sport isn’t real. Don’t you think they know? In The Fast and the Furious universe, Monica really cares whether or not Ja Rule wins the race, and NOS is the solution to all problems. NOS!

Initial D (2005)

Initial D makes me nostalgic for the Japanese youth that I never lived. If you’re a fan of the anime series Initial D, I’m sorry. I haven’t seen it. I am recommending the live action movie, Initial D from 2005. It is in Japanese, so you will be watching a movie with subtitles. But it is gloriously Japanese. Takumi shares your adoration for the Nissan GTR. There’s moody-stylized Tōge racing sequences, gratuitous sideways action, and tofu.
